5 Secrets for Healthier Cash Flow
Date: Tuesday, October 15
Time: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Claire Wilson is a co-founder at Siteline — a billing software company for subcontractors. Before Siteline, she worked in construction as a project manager at Tishman Construction in New York City on huge projects like Hudson Yards and JP Morgan’s Corporate Headquarters.

“My experience there gave me a direct view of how construction billing works and why subcontractors need software specific to their workflows,” Claire explains. “That experience helped inspire Siteline. In building and launching Siteline back in 2019, I interviewed hundreds of subcontractors, many of which were electrical subs. Fast forward to today, we now have customers all over the country, including a lot of electrical subs and IEC members!”

Claire provides tools, techniques, and tactics to put electrical contractors in control, such as:

Why Software Implementation Derails and How to Fix It

You would never buy new equipment without ensuring your team knows how to use it efficiently. The same goes for new software. Claire says introducing new software can be frustrating and stressful — and implementation often takes longer than expected. In this session, she shares a game plan for electrical subs to successfully implement software.

“Effective software implementation starts before you make a purchase,” Claire explains. “There is a lot of preparation, research, and internal buy-in that needs to occur before you commit to any type of tool or vendor.”

AI Forecast: Top Trends for Maximum Impact

Artificial intelligence (AI) is on a remarkable growth trajectory, poised to reach $407 billion by 2027. Despite this promising outlook, the construction industry lacks the knowledge and resources to effectively use AI. In this session, Siteline co-founder Gloria Lin and Claire discuss AI trends that offer the most potential for electrical contractors and share real-world, construction-specific use cases for AI. They also talk about evaluating different AI-powered solutions, so attendees know when and how to choose the right tools for their businesses.

“AI isn’t here to replace us, but to empower us,” Claire states. “The sooner construction companies figure out if, when, and how to best leverage AI to benefit their businesses, the better.”

5 Secrets for Healthier Cash Flow

Of the $1 trillion annually borrowed in construction every year, $100 billion goes unpaid. Why? The industry leans too heavily on manual processes that often lead to errors and payment delays, Claire says. It’s time for the industry to buck the status quo! In this session, she shares the top five insider tips for automating repeatable processes, getting paid faster, and managing cash flow more effectively across all projects.

“A lot of subcontractors will say that they get paid when the GC pays them, and there’s nothing they can do to impact that timeline,” says Claire. “But, there’s actually a lot they can do. This presentation empowers subcontractors to take back control of their A/R and be more proactive in their billing and collections.”

Claire invites SPARK attendees to visit her and the Siteline team at booth 1109.

“I can answer any additional questions from the sessions, share billing best practices, and show you the only billing software built specifically for subcontractors,” Claire says.
